Joan served as a judicial law clerk at Lyon County District Court in Nevada, and the Supreme Court of Nevada. After serving as a staff law clerk at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah, Joan gained experience in the area of creditors’ rights by representing institutional clients.

| Education
|
Joan earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School, and her A.B., with honors, in Government from Dartmouth College. While in law school, Joan was a staff member of the Southern California Review of Law and Women’s Studies. Concurrently with her legal education, Joan obtained a Master of Business Taxation degree from the Leventhal School of Accounting at the USC Marshall School of Business.
