Jason “Jake” Rios represents creditors and debtors in virtually every type of bankruptcy, out of court workout, and commercial litigation. His experience includes representing the Trustee in a large chapter 11 case filed by a real estate development and management company with over 80 properties with scheduled values in excess of $500 million and representation of Unsecured Creditors’ Committees in large chapter 11 cases in both the Eastern District and Northern District of California. Mr. Rios has also represented landlords, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, and equipment leasing entities in a variety of bankruptcy matters including representation of creditor clients in complex chapter 11 cases such as United Air Lines, Pacific Gas & Electric, K-Mart, Washington Group International, Orthodontic Centers of America, and Winston Tires, as well as numerous smaller chapter 11 and chapter 7 bankruptcy cases. In addition, Mr. Rios has represented debtor clients in both Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings
and out-of-court workouts. Mr. Rios has also represented clients in bankruptcy court adversary proceedings such as complaints objecting to the dischargeability of debts, lien priority disputes, and fraudulent transfer actions. He has also represented creditors and defended clients in numerous preference actions in cases filed in numerous jurisdictions across the country.

In addition to the State Bar of California, Jake is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California. Jake is a former President of the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum and member of its Board of Directors of from 2005 through 2007. And in 2007 Jake served as a member of the Judicial Advisory Committee for the Eastern District of California. Jake is currently a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section and a member of the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum.
